I'm feeling extremely bored, and I'm just longing for you to come back...so I thought that a nice long post would be a good welcome back surprise xD
I have this theory about the holidays, it really makes you bond together with all you friends, old and new alike. And that's how it has been for me the last month, ever since I came back from KL. Loads of stayovers, cycling, table tennis and badminton outings, debate trainings, bbqs and so much more! So a huge thanks goes out to everyone who manages to find the time to go out with me this holiday! xD I really enjoyed myself dearly!
Anw, onto the more important part of this post, SINGAPORE DEBATE OPEN! haha kinda got persuaded to take part in it by Imran (coach)! So that makes Jarret and I the youngest there, facing the likes of Blau and Marv, Imran (coach) and Jun Yi, Ren Jie and Rquah, Anish and Jia Wei and alot more really imba Uni people. But nonetheless, we turned up for all the training sessions, making a fool of ourselves, getting owned left right centre, upside down ><
So yes, after all the torturing and insane ego bashing, we arrived really early on the day itself, 7.45am to meet Imran and Jun Yi who was late, only to find out that we know another team thats gonna ego bash us, the Cat high coaches Mark and Robin (who named themselves GongJiao). So thats 5 teams that we know better than us ><
Our first motion was "THW throw the book at 'dubya'. I swear, our first reaction when we found out the motion was to turn to each other and like...swear. We have no idea what 'dubya' meant, I mean...if you don't read nonsense/satires about George W.Bush, you wouldn't know it referred to him either. But luckily, Imran decided to be nice and mouthed "it's about GWB" to us, saving us xD Then came the bad news, we realised that we were gonna go up against GongJiao (who Imran admits is much better than him) ><
As such, we spent the 15 min (yes bloody little time) cursing everything from the motions to the teams to ourselves to our substantives to our rebuttals to people next door. EVERYTHING. So we entered the room with unusually lousy substantives and meagre rebuttals.
Haha the results were out and we were actually ranked 2nd xD just behind closing opp (who weren't GongJiao, in case you were wondering) but I guess we only got that pos because opening govt screwed up, allowing us to capitalise on the chances and gaps and kill them before GongJiao came on xD So our target of not getting last in at least a round was met xD
The second round was not much easier I guess, THW ban all Anti-Govt Protests. We were opening govt (jarret hasnt actually done a proper 1st speaker speech b4) so we almost died since coming up with a watertight substantives is not very easy in 15 min. We got 3rd in the end, screwed over by technicalities....>< so it really wasnt that bad a day, since we were the youngest team there. AND we were leading Imran at this point in time (;
The third round was the most infruriating round (though it only became so after the results were known). Thbt we should talk to Iran w/o preconditions. We were closing opp.... so we were panicking, because at this stage we realise that if your extension is not good, you're as good as screwed. So we were literally praying our points are not taken up by opening opp. Luckily they werent....BUT, we got screwed over by technicalities again ><><
haha so came the final round, with team "themismatch" having 4 points from 3 rounds xD THW ban criminals from voting, closing govt. haha this was quite the highlight of my day, because I did a really gd speech (in my opnion), and really shifted the grounds of the debate, and jarret too, with loads of aggression heh
then came the results....well we had 7 points (1st for the last round) and the last 5 teams that broke for quarters...had 7 points too! so, it was quite sad for us because the last team that broke, was the team that we lost to in the Iran round. Coupled with the reason why we lost, I guessed that was quite a bitter pill to swallow. But!!! nonetheless, it was really really really good to be able to spar really strong opponents and have a really great time xD (and not get last too!)
Now that I'm done with SDO, I'm just missing you all over again and hoping you'll come back asap!!!!!!

I guess it takes many life-changing events happening in succession to make me blog again. But I've already lost the motivation to blog.
1) Cross Country KL training trip to Malaysia
After 4 years, it finally came. It was really such a great trip, and to sum it up... I guess it would have been much better if my batchmates could've been there. And that means people I've been training with the last 4 years of my RI life, Zhu Jie, Shi Kai, Cho Han, Zhi Ming. But nonetheless, having Sean there was good enough for me to thoroughly enjoy the trip, lest to say with everyone else that've made my year in cross country more bearable. I guess I'll save what else I have left to say to an email to be sent at a later date.
2) RMUN Chalet!
haha the details of this would probably have been up on like dozens of blogs by now, so I shan't go on to elaborate about it, just that I really had alot of fun there xD making new friends, and keeping old ones haha... again I guess i'll leave the rest to the email.
3) I'VE JUST BEEN TOLD I'LL BE RUNNING STANARD CHARTERED MARATHON ON SUNDAY
ok unlike the name, I'm not running the full marathon, just running 10k team. But still, not training for such a long time has taken any long distance ability I might have away. So I shall start by doing easy run tmr, trying to pick up SOME form of fitness tmr so I can run on Sunday.

it's around this time tonightwhen everything starts crashing down on youAfter moderation, I'm glad to say that my GPA has risen again! xD it's either 3.69/3.73 now, depending on whether my maths is 79 or 80 haha
Class phototaking today was horribly un-expressive, despite it being for our expressions page. Somehow, the photos taken after the "official" photographer took were more relaxed and free. haha and the irony of the day, humans students wearing labcoats with goggles posing as chemists! ><
Anw, it's two more days to Chinese O lvls, and I'm feeling totally unprepared.....
so it's back to chinese mugging for me now haha

Just had a great rest after Hallowen party at Natalee's house lastlast night xD
But before going to that, I guess I shall post about my EOYs results (;
English - 32/45 (sigh i screwed comprehension up 9/20 ftw)
Social Studies - 25/30
History - 35/40
Bio - 73/100
Chemistry 59/80
Maths - 49/60
Maths - 36/60
Lit - 22/25
Ahwells I guess on the whole it was quite a gd EOY for me, considering how I screwed up last year and how my results fare relative to the rest of the cohort xD
Veryvery happy with History/bio/lit since they were amongst the top few in the level haha
Overall GPA - 3.64
Strangely enough, to many it might not be the most fantastic GPA (not that it isnt gd) but it's the highest I've ever gotten in RI, so I'm still very proud of it k!
Hopefully I can get the subject combi of my choice HELM!!
Anw, onto more interesting things, I went for my first ever Hallowen Party at Natalee's house on on Friday night, dressing up as a
PIMP. lol! for photos check facebook out pls..
Just wanna say that it was an amazingly gd party and I enjoyed myself terribly, what with random talks and revalations (hint : A Certain School which is Independent)
2 more days to Higher Chinese O lvls, it strangely just feels like any other normal examinations, though I feel horribly unprepared ><
oh and NPPF results are coming back on the 5th as well, so let's pray for the best!
